Missouri TBF has partnered with Teen Anglers to offer a wider range of events and more opportunities for young anglers to win prizes and scholarships! TBF Junior Anglers
Started in 1994, the TBF Junior Angler program is one of the oldest youth fishing programs in the country. In 2018 we will have a brand-new format! By popular demand, all TBF Junior events will now be 2-person TEAM tournaments. This will allow young anglers to team with a buddy and fish from their own boats with their own boat captains!
Our Junior Angler program is open to youth 15 years old and younger (as of Aug 31 of the Junior World Championship they are trying to qualify for). We are open to all youth so If you don’t have a partner and/or boat captain we can help you find one.
Missouri TBF Junior Angler program includes several state-wide tournaments as well as fundraising and conservation projects. The competitive branch of this program allows the anglers to achieve the Missouri Junior State Championship and qualify for the TBF Junior World Championship (JWC). The top team from Missouri advances to the JWC, which is now a 3-day event (with a cut on day 2) where anglers compete from their own boat for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes!
The TBF Junior World Championship is the premier junior fishing tournament in the world and it is held each year in conjunction with the Forest Wood Cup which is professional fishing richest event. In 2018, anglers will be competing at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas on August 9-11, making for a convenient trip for our young anglers and their family!
